Wow ! Isn’t this week of action tips flying fast? If you’ve got moving and already onto the first 3 tips I’ve shared, you’re about to start dating appointments and bookings. For 5 days in a row we’re chatting about action to take when there’s nothing in your diary, and today it’s time for #4 of the 5 ultimate direct sales tips for Direct Selling Consultants and Direct Sales Leaders who are so over having no forward plan in their business!
Today’s message is one I know works a treat, and I’m talking from experience….
ACTION TIP #4 – BE A PERSON OF VALUE
This tip is based on contribution. And here’s a GOLD nugget I know from my studies in human behaviour. Contribution is one of our six core needs for happiness. Without contributing – the path to happiness can never be achieved.
If you’ve been in the direct sales channel of distribution for a while, you will already have experiences – genuine stories – of how your product has helped someone. Drawing on that, go back to your weekly community newspaper – the free one that turns up in your letterbox every week, and this time read the whole paper with your direct sales business hat on.
When you do that; opportunities jump out at you. Someone is raising money for a cause, there’s a local fete being advertised, a local member of the public is having a tough time with some unfortunate circumstances, or a sports club is in fundraising crisis. With your business hat on, the paragraphs jump out very, very differently, than if you were skimming the paper for a quick read, before dropping it into the recycling bin!
If your product does something of value for someone – which I am sure it does because that’s what direct sales products are – quality products of great value to people…. Then go and do something with it!
Cook a meal for a local family whose parents are doing it tough, do a complimentary clean of the home with your chemical free products for a breast cancer sufferer, make lunch in the staffroom for the exhausted teachers one day, give moisturizing hand massages for women at the local refuge…. You get the idea. Turn up and be a person of value. You had nothing in your diary and you’re available … contribute !
Now of course; this is a pure contribution moment. It just so happens ongoing curiosity can come from it. A letterbox drop to neighbours sharing what you did, a paragraph back to the local newspaper and a photo sharing how great it felt to give back, a photo and paragraph in the school newspaper…. You never know what being kind brings back to you!
Seriously – if you have nothing coming up in your direct selling availability dates – get out there and get yourself and your product making a difference in the community and raise your profile that way!
So now we have four in a row with today’s action tip #4 for when there is nothing – no customer appointments – in your direct sales diary or calendar. When you’re a person of value, and contribute to others, you cannot help but build BRAND YOU!
Remember – when you have nothing in your direct selling forward plan – it’s all about stepping into actions that create interest in you and your product. Once you have that interest, you simply have conversations that create the need for your product, and subsequently create further appointments in your diary.
